Paprika

I just saw the strangest movie. Called Paprika, the story centers on scientists trying to unlock and see dreams. But now the dream world is merging with reality, with some disastrous consequences. The animation in this movie visually jaw dropping - simply nothing like it done before. And this high level of animation is put to tremendous use when visually painting a dream and bending the world in any direction you can imagine. The characters are likable and engaging, and the unorthodox plot line is challenging but fulfilling. I cannot understate the sheer weirdness of the entire film. It's a great movie, but it's strange.

Just, just watch the trailer here to see what I mean.
